Passing away of someone close is always heartbreaking. Thanks to the technology available to us these days, we can cherish the moments by looking at the old pictures and videos. But more often than not, many of those are tied to the account of the deceased person. Apple aims to solve this with Legacy on iPhone. Let’s learn more about this new feature.

What is Apple’s Legacy Contact, and how it works?

Apple’s Legacy contact lets you securely pass down your data, such as photos, videos, notes, and other information, to trusted friends and family members. It will allow your close ones to access your files after you’re gone.

And as hard as it is to look at the photos of a deceased person, this feature makes sense when you have to access data related to their billing accounts, insurance emails, and others.

From iOS 15, you’ll be able to add contacts to pass your ‘Digital Legacy.’ Your close ones can request a copy of your data using an Access Key and a copy of the death certificate. Upon verification from Apple, you’ll be able to download the files of the deceased person.

Note: A Legacy Contact will be available on all Apple devices running macOS Monterey 12.1 or later, iOS 15.2 or later, and iPadOS 15.2 or later. Digital Legacy will rollout with stable versions of the operating systems “this fall.”

What data can Legacy Contacts see?

What data can Apple Digital Legacy contacts see

After you’ve added a family member as a Legacy Contact, they’ll be able to access all the data linked to your account, including:

  • Messages
  • Mails
  • Photos
  • Videos
  • Documents
  • Notes
  • Contacts
  • Calendar events

However, the trusted contacts can’t view information like your iCloud Keychain, payment information, subscriptions, and licensed media.

There’s also an expiration date for the data. It means that you’ll only have a specified number of days before which you will have to download all the data. As a plus point, Apple allows you to directly import the data to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Can Apple see the data of a deceased family member’s iCloud account?

No. When you request a copy of the data, Apple will securely package the contents into a zip file, which you can then download. Apple ensures that every step involved in this process is encrypted, and none of the data can be seen by Apple.

How to add a Legacy contact on iPhone running iOS 15.2 or later

  1. Open iPhone Settings and tap your name.
  2. Select Password & Security and select Legacy Contact.
Tap on profile sign in and security legacy contact
  3. Next, Tap the Add Legacy Contact button.
  4. Now, again tap Add Legacy Contact button.
  5. Enter your Apple ID password and sign in.
  6. Search for your trusted contact and hit Continue. This will generate an Access Key for your account.
Anyone who tries to download your data will require this Access Key.

Add Digital Legacy contact on iPhone running iOS 15
  7. Tap Print a Copy and save the Access Key as a PDF.

Tap Print a Copy and save Access Key as a PDF on iPhone

You can share this Access Key to the trusted contact via email, WhatsApp, or your preferred method of communication. Remember that the trusted contact will be required to upload the Access Key at the time of data request, ensuring a cloud backup of the Access Key is available.

How to manage and delete Legacy Contact on iPhone

If your trusted contact misplaces your Access Key, or you don’t want someone to have a key to your account, you can delete a contact from your Digital Legacy.

Download Legacy Contact Access Key

  1. Open iPhone Settings and tap your profile.
  2. Select Sign-in & Security and scroll down to Legacy Contact.
You’ll see all of your Legacy contacts in this list.
  3. Select the contact for whom you want to download the Access Key.
  4. Tap View Access Key and save it as a PDF (again).
  5. Now, share it with your legacy contact.
Download Digital Legacy Access Key on iPhone in iOS 15

Remove a contact from your Legacy Contact

  1. Open Settings → tap your profile name Sign-in & Security → select Legacy Contact.
  2. Next, select the contact for whom you want to revoke Legacy Contact.
  3. Below the View Access Key button, tap Remove Contact.
  4. When the pop-up appears, select Remove Contact to confirm.
Remove a contact from Digital Legacy on iPhone

Download data of a deceased family member’s iCloud account

Since the feature isn’t accessible yet, it is unclear how a Legacy contact can request a copy of the data of a deceased person. However, according to the screenshots Apple shared at WWDC 21, you could request data from Apple’s Official Address.

Download data of a deceased family member’s iCloud account

Remember that you’ll need to share a copy of the death certificate and the Access Key to request a copy of the data. The data also has an expiration date, so you’ll need to download it before it is permanently deleted.

A Legacy Contact proves to be a valuable tool, certainly in this ‘digital’ era. It shows how we have evolved and become dependent on technology.

I hope you understood everything about Legacy Contact on your iPhone and how you can enable it on your iPhone. If you have any doubts or related queries, share them in the comments below!

Apple TV is one of the best media streaming devices out there. It has often been compared to Fire Stick and other Android streaming boxes and has come on top every single time. Combined with a VPN, Apple TV can be your go-to streaming solution with all of the geological restrictions unblocked.

In this guide, I will explain what a VPN does with your Apple TV and share a list of the best VPN apps for Apple TV that can help improve your streaming experience.

What does a VPN do?

Ever been in a situation where you’re scrolling through Instagram, and you find a TV show or a movie to watch. You turn to Google, search the show, and find out that the show is available on a streaming service that you own but in a different country.

Well, this is where a VPN comes in. A VPN geo-spoofs your location and allows you to watch content unavailable in your region. It ‘fools’ the streaming service into believing that you’re watching the movie from a different location.

Along with geo-spoofing, most VPNs also encrypt the data on your Apple TV. Thus, preventing third-party and your ISP from tracking your online activities. Now, let’s explore your best options.

Best Apple TV VPNs in 2024

Here’s a list of the top VPNs seamlessly compatible with Apple TV that offer enhanced online privacy and unrestricted streaming.

1. Surfshark – Best value for money

Surfshark VPN for Apple TV

Surfshark is one of the Apple TV VPNs that packs a lot of features at a low price. It has 3200+ servers in more than 100 countries, so whatever you want to stream, you can do so seamlessly.

It offers the option to configure VPN over Wi-Fi or DNS on Apple TV. If you’re looking for some casual streaming at a throwaway price, Surfshark VPN is available. It’s almost a no-brainer.

Plus, the service offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. Thus, making it worth giving a shot!

Pros:

  • Great value for money
  • Unlimited bandwidth
  • Blocks ad along with unlocking geo-spoofing content
  • 24/7 chat assistance

  Cons:

  • No major cons found

Surfshark’s pricing for its two-year plans:

  • Surfshark Starter for $2.29 per month + 2 Months free
  • Surfshark One for $2.89 per month + 2 Months free
  • Surfshark One+ for $4.49 per month + 2 Months free

Download

2. ExpressVPN – Best overall VPN for Apple TV

ExpressVPN app for Apple TV

Though (a bit) costly, ExpressVPN is one of the best VPNs for Apple TV. It’s easy to use and can be configured in minutes. The service supports MediaStreamer, which is its DNS service that allows you to geo-spoof your location easily.

If you don’t feel like going through the configuration, again and again, you can set up ExpressVPN on your Wi-Fi router. Their app for VPN on Wi-Fi is simple, and the VPN provider has some of the best how-to guides for it.

And oh, if you run into some issues, ExpressVPN has one of the finest customer support in the business.

Pros:

  • Easy to set up
  • Amazing, dedicated router app
  • Best-in-class security and privacy measures
  • Great worldwide speed

  Cons:

  • Expensive monthly plan

Price: Subscriptions start at $8.32 per month

Download

3. NordVPN – Fastest VPN for Apple TV

Nord VPN app for Apple TV

NordVPN comes in second for the best Apple TV VPN. It supports both VPN over Wi-Fi and SmartDNS, so you can connect to the server at your convenience. Setting up SmartDNS is easy and straightforward.

But what’s not so straightforward is VPN over Wi-Fi on NordVPN. The service doesn’t have a dedicated Wi-Fi router app, unlike ExpressVPN. However, configuring it on a router is still possible. It’s just a little bit of a hassle you’ll have to go through.

Moreover, in my testing, I found NordVPN a bit slower than ExpressVPN. But it’s cheaper, so it evens out.

Pros:

  • Doesn’t store logs on its server — truly encrypted internet
  • Ability to use VPN on up to 6 devices at once
  • Works with all major streaming services

  Cons:

  • Slow speeds for some streaming services
  • Lack of a dedicated router app

Price: Subscriptions start at $3.09 per month

Download

4. CyberGhost – Easy to use Apple TV VPN

CyberGhost VPN for Apple TV

CyberGhost is one of the all-in-one VPNs available out there. This service is an excellent option if you plan to use the VPN on your Apple TV along with your laptop and phone. It supports both VPN over DNS and VPN over Wi-Fi, though just like Nord VPN, there’s no dedicated app for Wi-Fi routers.

One of the unique things about CyberGhost is that it allows you to sort VPN locations based on the order of the streaming service they can unlock. Though with more than 7,200 servers, you can use CyberGhost to watch any content from any part of the world.

Pros:

  • Decent speed
  • Robust privacy policy
  • Split tunneling feature
  • A wide fleet of servers

  Cons:

  • Expensive monthly plan
  • Restricted access to high-security servers

Price:

Download

5. Private Internet Access (PIA) – Dedicated App Store app

Private internet access vpn for apple tv

With a dedicated Apple TV VPN app, Private Internet Access (PIA) stands apart from the competition. While you can access servers across 94 Countries, PIA has taken a step forward and offers 10 servers explicitly optimized for streaming geo-restricted content from the comfort of your couch on your Apple TV.

Additionally, PIA offers advanced security options such as DNS leak protection and Kill Switch functionality, enhancing your online privacy & security while streaming on Apple TV.

Pros:

  • Dedicated Apple TV app
  • Streaming optimized servers
  • No bandwidth caps or restrictions

Cons:

  • Only five smart DNS locations
  • Occasional performance fluctuations

Price: Free (In-app purchases start at $6.99)

Download

6. IPVanish – Servers across the globe

IPVanish for Apple TV

Similar to PIA, IPVanish also launched its dedicated Applen TV recently. The only requirement is that your Apple TV must be running on the tvOS 17 firmware update.

With servers in over 75 countries, IPVanish VPN offers reliable performance and throttle-free access to the global content library across streaming platforms Netflix, Prime Video, Max, Hulu, Peacock, Paramount Plus, and ESPN+ through Apple TV.

Rest assured, your privacy and security remain safe as the IPVanish Apple TV VPN app runs on the IKEv2 protocol.

Pros:

  • Unmetered bandwidth
  • Simple and user-friendly interface

Cons:

  • Has had past controversies over logging policies.

Price: Free (In-app purchases at $4.99)

If you’ve experienced reminders and events randomly appearing in your iPhone’s Calendar app, you’re not alone. This is a common issue with many iPhone users wherein the user subscribes to a third-party calendar service unknowingly. This, in turn, results in the calendar being clogged with spam events. Thankfully, this is easy to resolve. Learn what the calendar virus is, how to remove it from your iPhone, and tips to stop this.

Where does iPhone get the calendar virus from?

Where does iPhone get the calendar virus from?

iPhone calendar spam is similar to phishing emails. Hackers create text messages, emails, web pages, and popups with links that look very similar to the original page.

Many users who visited the Soap2Day website faced a notorious issue where they encountered multiple pop-ups and redirects while browsing. These issues raised security concerns and created a sense of unease. If you’ve experienced such problems and are searching for a solution to remove the Soap2Day Virus, it is advisable to take immediate action to avoid any further harm.

When the user unknowingly clicks on these links, it takes them to the Calendar app. Even if you press back or decline the event, the iPhone’s default settings allow these hackers to still send spam calendar events.

Apple is partly at fault here since the company allows anyone, including the people not in your contacts, to send calendar invites to your iPhone. Since the user isn’t expecting spam links in the Calendar app, they might click on the link in the event, which (most probably) will lead them to a phishing page. These pages may contain hacking scripts and malware that could result in your personal information getting compromised.

How to remove calendar virus and spam events on iPhone

1. Delete spam events using the iPhone’s Calendar app

  1. Open the Calendar app on your iPhone.
    • You’ll see all events, including spam events. Note the color of the spam event invites.
    • In my case, the spam event is highlighted in purple.
  2. On the main page, tap the Calendars button at the bottom.
A list with all the calendars synced to your iPhone will show up.
  3. Look for the spam event’s color and tap the i button next to it.
  4. Scroll down and tap Delete Calendar to delete all spam events from your iPhone.
Note: If spam calendar events are displayed with more than one color, perform the steps for those colors.

2. Clear calendar virus from iPhone Settings

If you continue receiving spam events on your iPhone, you might need to unsubscribe from these events from your iPhone’s settings. Here’s how you can do it.

  1. Head over to iPhone Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Calendar
  3. Next, select Accounts and tap Subscribed Calendars.

Go to Subscribed Calendars from iPhone Settings
  4. Select the calendar you did not subscribe to and tap Delete Account.

Clear calendar virus from iPhone Settings

I hope this guide helped you understand how to delete the Calendar virus from your iPhone and block it from appearing again. If you have some issues with the iPhone calendar not syncing with Outlook or any other iPhone calendar issues, let us know in the comments section below.

The number of email spam has frighteningly been going up in the past few years. To protect users from phishing emails, Apple introduced a new feature called Hide My Email. With iCloud+, Apple has further pushed the boundaries of Hide My Email as it can now protect users across Apple apps, including Safari, Mail, and more.

This article will explain what Hide My Email is, how it works, and how Apple users can take advantage of this fantastic privacy feature.

What is Apple’s Hide My Email feature?

You sign up on a free website or a service with your primary email address. Then, a few days later, you see your mailbox filled with junk mails from senders you do not recognize and mails from websites you didn’t even sign up for.

Raise your hand if this has happened to you!

What’s happening behind the scenes is that the ‘free’ service you signed up for is (probably) ‘leaking’ your email address to mass marketing websites that send you these phishing emails. To protect this from happening, Apple introduced a new feature called Hide My Email.

Hide My Email creates a new, unique, and random email address when you sign up on a website or an app on iPhone, Mac, or iPad. This ensures that your private email address isn’t shared with the websites.

Example:

Let’s say your primary email address is abc123@igeeksblog.com. When you sign up on a website, a prompt will ask you to use Hide My Email. If you choose yes, Apple will instantly generate a random, unique alphanumeric email address like cvjwdns8dj@privaterelay.appleid.com. This “@privaterelay.appleid.com” is the identifier for Apple’s Hide My Email address.

But will I have to sign in with a private relay email ID to receive email from the website?

No. Since Apple already knows your primary email, it will automatically forward all the emails sent to the private relay email ID.

One additional benefit of the Hide My Email feature is that it automatically filters out all the spam mails. Apple also states that it doesn’t “read or process any content in the email messages that pass through the relay service.”

What’s better in Hide My Email with iCloud+?

Up until now, you could only use Hide My Email to hide your email address from apps and websites when you create an account on them or sign up for any newsletters.

With iCloud+, Apple has added an option to protect your email address even when sending an email and making a purchase via Apple Pay. Now, whenever you use the Mail app to send an email, the Hide My Email option will come up.

This will generate a unique email address, and the receiver won’t see your primary email address. However, all the replies and emails sent to that unique mail address will be sent to your inbox.

How to enable Hide My Email on iPhone

Paid iCloud+ subscribers can see a new option called Hide My Email in iCloud settings. In this setting, you’ll be able to manage all of your private relay emails, activate or delete a private relay email, and do much more.

  • Create a new address: You can create a new private relay address anytime and use it to sign up on websites and send emails. Moreover, all the replies will be sent to your primary emails.

Create new address to Hide My Email in iOS 15
  • Manage email addresses: Under create new address, you’ll see all the created private relay emails. In addition, you can tap the app’s/website’s name to change settings for that particular service.

Manage Hide My Email addresses in iOS 15

Can I customize the email address for Hide My Email?

Currently, Apple does not provide an option to customize Hide My Emails. But since Apple already creates a unique email address, you don’t need to worry about others using it.

Also, all the private emails are stored on your Apple ID across devices. So there’s no need to “customize” them in case you’re wondering about memorizing each email ID.

How to change Hide My Email settings on iPhone

If you want to stop using Apple’s private email service, these are the options you can opt for.

  1. Turn off email forwarding: If you’re irritated by the number of emails from a particular website, you can stop receiving them.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Tap your name → iCloud.
    • Now select Hide My Email and choose the service from which you don’t want to receive emails.
    • Toggle off Forward to.

Turn off email forwarding in iOS 15
  2. Change forwarding address: If you’ve changed your primary email address, you can set the private email address to send all the emails to your new address.
    • Go to Settings → tap your name.
    • Tap Name, Phone Numbers, Email.
    • Tap Forward to.
    • Now, enter the new email address to which you want the emails to be forwarded.

      Change forwarding address on iPhone
  3. Stop using Sign in with Apple for an app: To do so:
    • Go to Settings → tap your name → iCloud.
    • Now select Hide My Email → choose the service you don’t want to use the Apple ID email with.
    • Tap Stop using Apple ID.

Stop using Sign in with Apple Id in iOS 15

I hope this comprehensive guide helped you learn all about Hide My Email and how it shows Apple’s continued interest in protecting user’s privacy. Have some questions? Let us know in the comments section below!

Thanks to dozens of instant messaging apps, sharing contacts, links, music, etc., has become easier. But, when the time finally comes to open the item shared with you, everything seems lost. Either the link would’ve gone up in the chat, or you’d be too lazy to search for it. Fortunately, there is a dedicated section where all the shared items are stored! Enters the Shared with You feature on your iPhone.

In this article, we will learn about what is Apple’s Shared with You feature on your iPhone and how you can access this section and use it to improve your experience.

What is Shared with You on iPhone Messages?

Apple provided a Shared with You feature in the Messages app in iOS 15. It segregates the content that people send into different sections. For example, all the websites shared with you are in the Links section, images in the Photos section, etc.

And it doesn’t stop here—Shared with You also adds the items shared to the proper apps. This means that if someone shares a link on Messages, it will be not only in the Messages’ Links section but also in Safari.

Similarly, if someone shares a photo, it will appear in Messages as a separate section and also in the Photos app.

How to use Shared with You on iPhone

Shared with You is enabled by default on your iPhone, so it doesn’t require any setup or toggling to work. However, it is only compatible with the media shared in iMessage.

There are several Shared with You integrations across the iOS apps, some of which are mentioned below:

  • Photos: When someone sends you an image via iMessage, it will automatically show up in the For You tab of the Photos app. You can save it to your Photo library directly from this section.

Moreover, if you tap the name label at the bottom, the image in iMessage with the in-reply thread open will appear.
For You tab, you can see Shared with You Photos in iOS 15
How to use Shared With You in Messages in iOS 15
  • Apple News: If anyone sends you an Apple News story via iMessage, it automatically appears in the Today and Following tabs.
  • Safari: Many times, friends share links to articles and news pieces that may be useful to us. Now, you’ll no longer need to search your iMessage chat and find the link. Instead, all the links shared with you will show in a separate section in Safari.
How to use Shared With You in Safari in iOS 15
  • Apple Music and Podcast: Music and podcast links shared via iMessage show up in the Shared with You section in the Listen Now tab in the Apple Music and Podcast app.
Shared with you in Music app in iOS 15
  • Apple TV: When someone sends a movie or a TV show link via iMessage, the TV show or the movie will appear in the Shared with You section of the Watch Now tab so you can start watching it quickly.

Besides, you can access the Shared with You section in Books, Files, Notes, and Reminders among native iOS apps.

Apart from Shared with You, you can use SharePlay to watch movies and TV shows together on your iPhone. To learn more, check out our detailed guide on how to use SharePlay.

How to turn off Shared with You on iPhone

  1. Open iPhone Settings.
  2. Scroll down and select Messages.
  3. Now, select Shared with You.
  4. Here, disable Shared with You for all apps or selected apps.

turn off Shared with You in iOS 15

Alternatively, if you just want to prevent a specific conversation from appearing in Shared with You, you can simply hide it.

Hide content from appearing in Shared with You

Don’t want every message thread to appear in the Shared with You section of the app? You can easily hide it! However, you can’t select the content type. It will hide all types of content in Shared with You from that particular message thread.

  1. Open Messages → Go to conversation you don’t want to see in Shared with You.
  2. Tap the profile icon at the top.
  3. Toggle off Show in Shared with You. That’s it!

Shared with You is an excellent feature on iPhone and iPad. It lowers the number of steps required to search for a shared item. However, it is limited by the iMessage-only functionality. Had Apple opened up its API to third-party developers, it would have been one of the best iOS features.

Apple’s Magic Mouse is an excellent peripheral for Mac. But it has its fair share of flaws that deter users from buying it. Hence, many tend to use a third-party mouse on Mac. This leads to missing out on some amazing trackpad gestures available on the Magic Mouse.

But there’s a way out! I recently found a workaround while setting up my Dell mouse. Now, it seamlessly runs all the macOS gestures. Let me show you how to properly set up a third-party mouse (like Dell, HP, or Lenovo) and get those smart gestures on it.

How to connect a wireless mouse to Mac

First things first, you’ll need to connect your mouse to your Mac. But you need not worry, even if the wireless mouse doesn’t mention that it’s compatible with macOS or Windows. It’ll likely connect with your Mac without any issues.

There are two kinds of wireless mouse available in the market: one with Bluetooth and the other with a 2.4GHz USB connector for establishing a wireless connection. Let’s learn how to connect them properly:

  1. Turn on the wireless mouse and enable Bluetooth on it.
Check the mouse’s manual to turn on Bluetooth.
  2. Open System Settings from the Apple menu ().

Click Apple logo and choose System Settings
  3. Select Bluetooth from the left pane and toggle on Bluetooth if disabled.

Go to Bluetooth from System Settings and toggle on Bluetooth
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Connect next to the wireless mouse’s name.

Tap Connect next to the wireless mouse

Connecting a wireless mouse with a USB connector to your Mac

If your wireless mouse has included a USB connector in the package, connect the provided USB connector to your Mac. Next, turn on the wireless mouse, and it should connect to your Mac automatically.

If your Mac or MacBook doesn’t have a USB-A port, you might have to get USB-C hub for your Mac.

Tweak the basic mouse settings on Mac

Once you’ve connected your mouse to your Mac, you’ll need to customize a few settings on your Mac. Here’s what you need to change before you start using your wireless mouse.

Before proceeding further, here’s how you can access mouse settings in macOS:

  1. Connect wireless mouse to your Mac. If not connected, you won’t be able to access mouse settings on the MacBook.
  2. Open Apple menu () → Select System Settings.

Click Apple logo and choose System Settings
  3. Select Mouse on the left pane.

    Select Mouse in System Settings

Here, you will find all the mouse settings. Let’s explore what measures you need to take:

1. Turn off Natural Scrolling

First of all, you’ll need to change the ‘Scrolling’ settings. You must have noticed that once you connect a mouse to a Mac, moving the wheel up and down does the opposite of what you want it to do.

This is because you’re used to using the two-fingers swipe-up gesture to move a website or a page in a downward direction on your Mac trackpad.

However, when using a mouse, moving the wheel in the backward direction feels natural. You need to toggle off Natural Scrolling to stop this from happening.

Turn off Natural Scrolling in Mouse settings

2. Set Tracking, Scrolling, and Double-Click Speeds

If you’re moving from a different OS, the tracking, scrolling, and double-click settings might be different on Mac. Here’s what these settings mean:

  • Tracking Speed: This speed means how fast your Mac can recognize a mouse movement. The faster the tracking speed, the faster the gestures.
  • Scrolling Speed: This determines the amount of page scrolled when you spin the wheel button. The faster the scrolling speed, the faster the page will be scrolled. I wouldn’t recommend you to change this speed.
  • Double-Click Speed: As the name suggests, it determines how fast the double click can be tracked. The faster the speed, the faster your Mac will determine click gestures. If you increase this speed, your Mac will even recognize the faintest of mouse clicks.

Adjust these mouse settings as per your preferences.

Tracking Scrolling and Double-click speeds in Mouse settings

3. Turn on Spring Loading

I’m sure you’re aware of the feature when you hold a file over a folder, and the folder opens. Well, Apple has disabled this gesture with the third-party mouse by default. Here’s how you can enable Spring Loading in macOS:

  1. Open System Settings on your Mac from the Apple menu ().
  2. Click Accessibility from the left pane → Select Pointer Control on the right pane.

Pointer Control under Accessibility in System Settings
  3. Toggle on Spring-loading.

Toggle on Spring Loading in System Settings

Below Spring loading, you can set the spring-loading speed. The shorter the Spring Loading delay, the faster the folder will open when you hover a file over it.

Use Mac Trackpad gestures with a regular mouse

One of the limitations of using a third-party mouse with a Mac is that you don’t get to use the Mac trackpad gestures, such as a three-finger swipe to switch windows or a three-finger swipe up to open Mission Control.

Worry not! Using a third-party tool called xGestures, you can use some of the Mac trackpad gestures with your regular mouse as well. Follow these steps:

  1. First, download and install xGestures on your Mac.

Download and install xGestures on your Mac
  2. Now, download three Apple Scripts.
  3. Save these Apple Scripts in a separate folder, and do not delete these Apple Scripts.

Save Apple Scripts in a separate folder on Mac
Note: Deleting these Apple Scripts will disable Mac gestures on the mouse.
  4. Now, go to System Settings → open xGestures.
  5. Select if you want to perform the gesture while holding the middle button (the scrolling wheel) or by using the left or right button.
You can even customize it to perform the gesture when you’re holding the Command button.
  6. Go to the Applications tab.
  7. Checkmark Enable Global Gestures and select New Gesture.

select New Gesture from xGestures on Mac
  8. Swipe right while holding the middle button.
The window screen should say ‘Right.’

Swipe right while holding the middle button on Mac
  9. Choose Gesture Action as Run AppleScript.

Choose Gesture Action as Run AppleScript on Mac
  10. Select the ctrl-right file for the Left gesture and ctrl-left for the right gesture.
This is because when you switch a window from left to right, you actually swipe toward the left.
  11. Similarly, add gestures for Swipe Left (Ctrl Right file) and Swipe Up (Ctrl Up file).
  12. Click Apply Settings.
  13. Go to the Options tab and select Start xGestures.

    Click Apply Settings on Mac

You can now go ahead and use the three-finger gesture on your Mac with the mouse.

Note: The service might get killed abruptly due to macOS background processes. Just go to System Preferences xGestures OptionsStart xGestures to re-enable it.

Wrapping up…

With this guide, I hope you can use a third-party mouse on Mac and run all the trackpad gestures. If you have any issues mapping gestures to a mouse, let me know in the comments section below. I’ll be more than happy to help!

Twitter offers a wealth of information, from funny memes to breaking news. However, the social media platform can be addictive, a source of misleading data, or simply unpleasant. If you’ve had a bad experience or are shutting down your business, here’s how to delete your Twitter account permanently.

Things to know before delete your Twitter account!

  • To delete your account, you must deactivate it.
  • You can restore your Twitter account within 30 days of deactivating it.
  • Your Tweets will still be available on Twitter and search engines. You can request Google not to show them by clicking here.
  • If you are looking for a temporary notification break, learn how to offload the Twitter app from your iPhone.

Download Twitter archive and tweets before deleting the account

It’s always a good habit to keep a copy of your data. Twitter allows you to download the data associated with your account, like your tweets, people who follow you, people you follow, and other information easily. Here’s how you can do it.

  1. Open Twitter on your desktop via a web browser or the Twitter app on your mobile.
  2. If you’re accessing Twitter via web browser, click More and head over to Settings and Privacy.

Go to Settings and privacy in Twitter through Web browser
On Twitter’s mobile app, tap the three-line icon at the top left and select Settings and privacy.
  3. Under Your Account, click Download an archive of your data.

Click Download an archive of your data from your Account in Twitter
  4. Enter your password, and verify your account again by sending a One-Time Passcode (OTP) to your email or phone number.
  5. Select Request your archive.

Select Request your archive from Twitter account settings
  6. Within 24-hours, a link will be sent to your phone number and email address from where you can download the data.

How to delete Twitter account on desktop?

  1. Go to Twitter.com and sign in with your credentials.
  2. Click MoreSettings and Privacy.
  3. Under the Account Settings, click Deactivate your account.

Deactivate Twitter account using Web on Mac or PC
  4. Click Deactivate.

    Verify deactivation for Twitter account
  5. Enter your password, Two Factor Authentication OTP, and again click Deactivate.

How to delete your Twitter account on iPhone

  1. Launch the Twitter app on your phone.
  2. Tap the three-line icon at the top left and select Settings and privacy.
  3. Go to Account.

    Deactivate twitter account from iPhone
  4. Tap Deactivate your Account.
  5. Select Deactivate and enter your password when prompted.

Click deactivate to delete twitter account on iPhone
  6. Tap Deactivate and follow this up by tapping Yes, Deactivate.

What happens after you delete your Twitter account?

After you deactivate your account, Twitter removes your traces from social media immediately. However, your tweets might be visible across search engines for up to 30 days. After 30 days, Twitter deletes your account permanently.

How do I delete an old Twitter account I can’t access?

If you have an account that you can no longer access, you can create a new Twitter account. From the account created, go to Twitter Support and request to delete your old account. Twitter will ask for some details about the old account to verify your identity, and if the Support feels right, your account will be deleted.

How to delete your Twitter account if it is suspended?

Unfortunately, there’s no way of deleting a suspended Twitter account. However, you can make a new Twitter account and request to unban your old account. Once unbanned, go ahead and delete it.

Can you reactivate your Twitter account?

Yes. To reactivate, log in to Twitter, and in the prompt shown, tap Yes, Reactivate. But this must be done within 30 days of your clicking the deactivate button, as Twitter permanently deletes your account after it.

Can I make a new Twitter account with the same email address?

No. Unlike Instagram, you can’t have two Twitter accounts using the same email address. To use the same email on another account, transfer the old account’s email to some other credentials and deactivate the account.

How can I delete my Tweets without deleting my Twitter account?

Head over to https://tweetdelete.net, log in to your Twitter account and authorize the app. Now, select the tweets you want to delete. You can choose to delete tweets from specific dates or all of your tweets.

I hope this straightforward guide to deactivate your Twitter account was helpful. If you are experiencing any problems removing your Twitter account or have any related queries, share them in the comments section below.

Emojis are an integral part of conversations these days. They set the mood, tone, and in some cases, even affect where the conversation’s headed. However, Facebook takes this a step further with a cool new feature called Soundmojis in Facebook Messenger.

But what exactly are Soundmojis, and how do I send them on Facebook Messenger from my iPhone? Read along to learn more about the new audio emojis.

What are Soundmojis?

What are Soundmojis or audio emojis on Facebook Messenger
Source: Messenger News

With Memoji, Apple tried to reinvent emojis by making them more personal. However, Memoji hasn’t been received very well. Facebook wants to take on the challenge of ‘making emojis great again’ — by adding sound.

Soundmojis are emojis with a sound or music attached. You don’t send your own recorded sound with the emoji (although that’ll be cool, Facebook), but select emojis with a sound related to it from the soundboard. For example, ❌ Soundmoji has the famous ‘Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no’ music attached to it.

The music Facebook has chosen for its audio emojis is great — with famous tracks like Congratulations from Post Malone and WAP from Cardi B, making the feature fun and cool.

How to send Soundmojis in Messenger on iPhone

  1. Open Messenger and select the chat on which you want to send Soundmoji.
  2. Tap the Smiley icon next to the Like button.
  3. Next, select the audio icon and select the Soundmoji.
  4. To preview the sound, simply tap the emoji.
  5. Tap Send to send the Soundmoji.
How to use sound emoji in Facebook Messenger

The Soundmoji won’t be heard until the receiver taps the purplish curved lines around the emoji. This is appreciated since it will stop the conversation from being too ‘noisy.’

I hope you’re able to send emojis with sound clips or Soundmojis on Facebook Messenger. If you’re having issues, let us know in the comments section.

Instagram changed the game when it borrowed inspiration from the Stories feature on Snapchat into its app. Today, millions of stories are uploaded on Instagram daily, and some are worth saving.

Although you can screenshot an Instagram Story, it’s not the best option for video Stories. Here’s a quick guide showing you how to download Instagram stories on your iPhone.

How to save your own Instagram Stories on iPhone

  1. Open Instagram.
If your profile picture is highlighted with a pink or gray color, you can save the Story to your iPhone.
  2. Tap your profile icon photo to open the Story.
  3. Press the More button at the bottom right.
  4. Select Save and select Save Story or Save Photo.

Tap on More, select Save, choose from Save photo and Save Story
  5. The Story should now be accessible in your Camera Roll.

Automatically download IG stories and save them to iPhone camera roll

Using the More option sounds convenient, but when you start posting Instagram Stories daily, saving each Story individually becomes a hassle.

Here’s how you can set your iPhone to auto-save Instagram Stories.

  1. Open Instagram on your iPhone.
  2. Go to your Profile and Tap on the hamburger menu at the top right corner.
  3. Scroll down and select Archiving and downloading.
  4. Toggle on Save story to Camera Roll.

Now you won’t have to save your Instagram Story on your iPhone manually.
